Ross From Friends presents Bubble Love
His real name is Felix Clary Weatherall. He is a DJ/creator born in Colchester, England in 1993. Influenced by his parents, he grew up surrounded by rave culture and a wide variety of dance music.
Since releasing his first EP "David Crane's Amazing Tennis" in 2013, Crane has consistently released music from several labels. In 2018, he released his first album "Family Portrait" from Flying Lotus's Brainfeeder label, which was highly praised. He has also worked on remixes for Thudercat and Jimmy Edgar, and released the EP "Epiphany" in 2019. In 2021, he released his second album "Tread" after pre-releases of "The Daisy" and "Love Divide". This album showed that he had progressed to the next stage. Compared to the time when he was tagged as Lofi House, everything had changed, including the sound he made.
In 2023, his first single in about two years, "The One," will be released in April 2023 on his own imprint, Scarlet Tiger. Following his second album, "Tread," "The One" adds a danceable touch to his craftsmanship of emotional storytelling. Starting with a bouncy two-step rhythm, it develops into his unique euphoric, throbbing synths, making it a song that tugs at the listener's heartstrings. This release marks his return to Scarlet Tiger, his second release since "Burner," which was released at the same time as the label was launched in 2021. Felix launched Scarlet Tiger as a place to release his own work with friends he has met, and released EPs from Giulia Tess and Cameo Blush, his bandmate in RFF.
Besides his work as a DJ and producer, Felix also performs live with his band, Jed Hampson and John Dunk. The band, which beautifully combines live instruments such as guitar, keyboards and saxophone with electronics, has graced the stages of Coachella, Glastonbury, Primavera and Sonar Festival, and has toured the UK, EU, Australia and North America with almost all of its shows sold out.
CYK
A Tokyo-based house music collective consisting of Nari, Kotsu, Naoki Takebayashi, and DNG. Centered on house music in a broad sense, they invite cutting-edge artists from Japan and abroad, such as Mall Grab, HAAi, Baba Stiltz, KENJI TAKIMI, Avalon Emerson, Jun Kamoda, and Skin On Skin. They have also held parties in various formats, such as the "CYK All Night Long" series, which creates a night with only the four members of CYK B2B, and the "CYK & Friends" series, which focuses on hooking up local DJs close to each other in Japan and abroad. In November 2021, they held their 5th anniversary party "Into The Future" at CONTACT, attracting a total of more than 650 people with guests such as the hatch and ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U.
They have been constantly offered back-to-back sets with the four members, and have performed at anniversary parties at clubs in Tokyo such as CONTACT and VENT, as well as at Rainbow Disco Club for three consecutive years, including the main festival and spin-off project in Higashiizu. At the 2022 FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL, they closed the late-night RED MARQUEE, and on December 3rd of the same year, they performed an all-night long back-to-back set at O-EAST. They continue to climb the stage with unstoppable momentum.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, they attracted attention for their overseas gigs in Seoul, Hong Kong, Thailand, etc., and appeared at the Wonderfruit Festival in Thailand in 2022. In 2023, they will appear at the Shi Fu Miz Festival in Hong Kong.
He also supports DJs both in Japan and abroad through the irregular podcast "CYK TOKYO RADIO" which is broadcast on Soundcloud.
